One thing I care a lot about is not letting #science become my whole personality. #Astronomy is my job, not who I am, and this is why I enforce a strict work life balance for myself.

So, now that I'm in the "official" #astrodon instance where we'll talk a lot about #space, I think it's also important that we share what else contributes to who we are as *people*, not just who we are as scientists.

Saturday is already for cats, so on Sundays I'm going to talk about hobbies, not astronomy. ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿงถ๐ŸŒˆ

I'm also moving over to the #ecoevo.social server (and thanking @alxsim for making this happen). Come join us! Follow me at @joannarifkin!

Can I ask a favour?

I'm really grateful to be recommended as a follow, but can you also mention the website (https://fedi.tips) when you do so?

At the moment getting a lot of questions which are answered on the site, and it's difficult to keep up with every question. I'm happy to keep answering, but also afraid I'll miss someone's question.

If they know about the site from the beginning, they will have a chance of finding the answers themselves if I do miss their question.

Thanks ๐Ÿ™

Okay I'm glad we're doing well on the #TwitterExodus / #MastodonMigration front, but perhaps next we can turn our attention to "Help why do I have so many different ScholarOne accounts"?
The most important thing for new people to understand about mastodon is that etymologically it means โ€œboob toothโ€

Rage, rage against the dying of the light!

Second day of #huevember and I let the #watercolor do more of the work in this lil' #FFXIV Goobbue piece, and learned so much! Thank you to everyone for your ideas and suggestions โค๏ธ

I'm stoked for tomorrow's #MastoArt - it's more abstract and I have some techniques I'm looking forward to trying!

One of those days... twice now I've typed "data wrongling" instead of data wrangling #datascience

And that's where we are at this point on Tuesday.
