When you watch your elderly parents losing their memories, it's almost as if they are already (or partially) dead. The illusion of a stable self (mohā) is clearly torn down, leaving only the truth: this world is momentary.

On Aging

Did you also, upon turning 28, realise you were no more as young as you used to like to think you were?

Morning breaks softly,
time bows, then moves aside—
grace in growing old.

A quotation from Maugham

For the complete life, the perfect pattern, includes old age as well as youth and maturity. The beauty of the morning and the radiance of noon are good, but it would be a very silly person who drew the curtains and turned on the light in order to shut out the tranquility of the evening. Old age has its pleasures, which, though different, are not less than the pleasures of youth.

W. Somerset Maugham (1874-1965) English novelist and playwright [William Somerset Maugham]
The Summing Up, ch. 73 (1938)

I'm at that stage in life where I think everyone is my age - except for people my age - they look old! Anybody else experience the same?

I can't help financially, but I can share. I have my personal #disability, not to mention #DecadesUponDecades (I'm exploring new ways to say #OldAge or #CreakingOldBones) but I want to help however I can so i share. I hope something good comes out of this.
