I can't help thinking about the parallels between the classic confidence scams and the hard push for "AI."
Someone pointed out that it's just like the crypto grift from a few years ago. It's a swindle and they are hoping you just won't notice. Trying to dazzle you with bullshit, to distract from the fact that the tool never works quite right, and tries to blame you for not prompting correctly.

We have laws (copyright, personality rights etc., Digital Service Act in the EU) and they can't use a patent against laws.
But that will lead to a wave of lawsuits, because they’ll carry on doing what they want anyway. And small freelancers will be less able to protect themselves than major publishers.
Some book publishers are testing #noAI labels. But they can also be misused. Times of disruption.

No, thanks, #noai. I am unsubscribing from any place that allows slop to sip in. Each of such place will perish in year or two. And they possibly will long not be aware that they are dead. Because #aislop is now being heavily consumed, commented on, promoted or dissed by siliconiac "agents".

Robert KingettDoes anyone have any links, podcasts, video, especially writing on deeply examining #AI/LLMs in spaces where the people are both working for the pleasure of it, and not coerced into productivity? Like, as an example, I’m in the FanFiction community a lot. Yes, of course there are people that will happily generate #AISlop in those/these spaces, but it seems to never be willingly promoted by readers. If it is promoted, it’s purely accidental and or the output was so heavily edited that it transformed into human writing again. This could be purely personal experience but in my case, I find that it really is not a big thing in those spaces. In short, everyone gives it the middle finger by not even acknowledging its existence in those spaces. Not a head in the sand kind of way but just a collective discussing great work instead. The AI evangelist seem to be very bored of these kinds of spaces and I’m trying to figure out if it’s personal experience or not #NoAI #LLM #AntiAI
