#PostmarketOS as a follow up to my previous post with installing Plasma-Mobile on my old 2nd gen Android One phone with MSM8916 SoC, I decided to test different desktop environments. On 2GB RAM Plasma-Mobile is a struggle to use. Phosh looks ok, but is a bit choppy, runs much better than Plasma. Gnome looks great, much better looking than the other two IMO but it is buggier than Phosh on this model. #mobilelinux #phosh #gnome #plasma

Linux Easy
Hello World!
from my new keyboard
#mobileLinux

This was unusual battery behavior, even for #mobileLinux. it may have been caused by a sudden partial fast charge.

power consumption optimization is a huge topic :)

Apart from supported devices, what are the deciding factors to choose between @mobian and @postmarketOS ?

Building for Mobian is easy in docker (we use https://tangled.org/me.webbeef.org/beaver/blob/main/support/docker/Dockerfile.arm64), not sure if pmbootstrap is also usable in CI? Ideally we would create updatable images with cage (https://github.com/cage-kiosk/cage) as the wayland compositor and Beaver as the user environment.

LINux on MOBile

@superblox If it works in the browser, it works on #MobileLinux.

Wero works totally fine in the browser without an app for me, as long as I stay below €5000.

#appgap

@superblox This is also a chicken egg problem. If there are little #MobileLinux users the motivation to create apps for Linux will be smaller. If there are less apps, there will be less #MobileLinux users.

I decided to have a Linux phone to break this circular dependency a little. One more mobile Linux user.

Fortunately, I see that more and more is possible via the browser.
