Häufig ersetzen Radfahrten oder günstige Tickets nur jeweils andere nachhaltige Mobilitätsformen, nicht Autofahrten. Sogar neue Bahnstrecken können zusätzlichen Verkehr erzeugen, weil sie den #Pendelverkehr über längere Distanzen fördern.

Wenn Städte ernsthaft CO₂ reduzieren wollen, muss die bestehende #Flächenungerechtigkeit aufgehoben und die wahren Kosten des Autoverkehrs eingepreist werden. Denn die Forschung macht deutlich: Ohne Druckmittel wie Straßenbenutzungsgebühren und weniger Straßenraum für Autos (sog. #PushMaßnahmen) wird der #Autoverkehr kaum sinken.

Erst wenn die Politik den Mut findet, die Privilegien des Autoverkehrs abzubauen, kann aus wohlmeinenden Programmen echte Veränderung werden, die die Lebensqualität für alle verbessert.
