These benches are adorable! As dinosaur kids, we would have loved to see these 🦕❤️
Fukui Prefecture is known as Japan's "dinosaur kingdom," and about 80% of all dinosaur fossils discovered in the country to date have been unearthed in the prefecture. These benches at the prefectural government building pay homage to that.
We are greatly saddened to hear about the passing of Britt Allcroft, the creator of the Thomas the Tank Engine TV show.
We grew up watching the show about the British steam engine, his friends, and their adventures on the Island of Sodor. We took over many rooms of our home with wooden train sets, our first foray into urban planning.
Ms. Allcroft helped create in us a love of trains which has defined our lives. May her memory be a blessing, and may she rest in peace upon the Isle of Sodor.
