This is their only pathway to survival right now. Read more if you want to know why. They currently need about $3,500 to cover past due expenses (over $2500) that they must pay by 12/30(corrected*) OR else they can’t renew for another week, month, or anything. Yeah it’s a lot but many hands make light work so please give and share if you’re able to! If there was another option they would be there already but illegal eviction mars their record preventing easily renting an apartment or home even if they had the funds. Sabi is the ONLY full time around the clock caregiver for a family member who lives with them. They can’t leave them unattended for long and they struggle to do basic care tasks since they are in one small room together constantly. There’s no more affordable or better option except for asking for support to stay sheltered where their mom gets routine and some degree of regulation. That’s why we need community to support Sabi today and down the line when they can move into a rental and focus on something more than survival and getting by. Right now that’s all they’ve got the energy for. Capitalism does this. Capitalism always comes with disaster because it’s a criminal enterprise that requires someone to be trampled on—undervalued for what they bring to the world with every breath they breathe, worked to the bone for any “talent” we do have that’s easily exploitable. Pushing aside need for desire and care for callousness and collaboration/community for competition.
