This is the Mullen Building located in Denver's City Park West neighborhood, just east of downtown. It was built in 1934 and features a "Gothic Deco" hybrid style. More precisely, it's architectural style could be described as "Late Gothic Revival with Deco Detailing" or perhaps "Art Deco with Gothic Revival Influences."
Clearly, the vertical red-brick projections are the building's signature move. They repeat in a regular cadence around all four sides of the structure, evoking fence posts or perhaps organ pipes. The vertical thrust of each of the red-brick projections is Gothic in spirit, but employs Art Deco geometry that is abstract, faceted, and visually impactful.
The building faces east, so I photographed it in the early morning to catch the golden morning sun, which really highlights the rich colors and high contrast between the creamy buff field brick and the saturated red sculptural brick.
