I keep thinking about how we need a federated and 'more resilient to no internet' code interaction mechanisms and my brain keeps going out to mailing lists with just a friendlier UI. Like, that's literally solving everything (barring the replication of the codebase, just have different git hosts/mirrors ig?)

Do people still use mailing lists?
I've been trying to find an email hoster that does mailing lists, which seems hard to find. Now I'm trying to setup my own mail server with Mailman integration and it's really really painful. Documentation and examples are missing stuff all over the place, shitty web apps, all that. Why? Does just no one use it anymore, so no one really cares? I don't quite get it π
The decommissioning of the WebAIM list is a perfect opportunity to recognize and promote the other longest-serving mailing list dedicated to accessibility: the Webdev (or Web Design Update) newsletter run by @laura_carlson out of the University of Minnesota Duluth.
Since 2002, this weekly email newsletter has reliably collected and categorized the best articles on web accessibility. I can't recommend it highly enough.
