Weekend Writing Challenge: The Broken System

This week's blog dives into Have Yourself a Post-Apocalyptic Christmas. A diabetic character faces a zombie outbreak but can't find insulin.

Spoiler: The zombies aren't the scariest part. The broken supply chain is.

Real survival depends on systems we take for granted. As writers, our characters should fight the collapse of the world they know.

YOUR CHALLENGE THIS WEEKEND:

1. Identify: What critical resource do YOU rely on? (Medication, water, electricity?)
2. Disrupt: Imagine it vanishes instantly.
3. Write: Draft a 300-word scene. Focus on emotional reaction + practical solution.

Pro Tip: Don't write about "the apocalypse." Write about mundane things becoming impossible. That's where tension lives.

Weekend Writing Challenge: Supply Chain Collapse

In my latest blog, I explore how my diabetes inspired a zombie story where the real villain isn't the undead—it's the broken supply chain.

Your Turn:
1. Identify one essential resource (meds, food, power).
2. Imagine it becomes inaccessible overnight.
3. Write a scene (200-300 words) navigating this scarcity.

Focus on panic & ingenuity.
