Today I learned the ( .Desktop) on my #Linux distro. I didn't know we had to do some effort to make some programs appear on the start button as any other software. It's rewarding to explore on Linux. But also I'm not a tech savvy person. I hope I don't face a closed road someday. So far, I solved all things that faced me through reading and maybe coincidence LOL.

I wish #ProtonMail would sync files to its Proton Drive on Linux distros, same as I used to in my Windows. It's a good alternative for OneDrive, and it's free. I only need 5GB max.

I've been reading about #NextCloud but I don't want to pay something like £10 a month.

Perhaps it is time that I do some more distro-hopping. Although I thoroughly enjoy using Linux Mint, this is the second time in the past week that I've wanted a more recent release of some of the software I use than what is in Mint's repositories. First, it was the latest version of LibreOffice. I was able to switch to the Flatpack version without issue. Now, I find myself wanting to use the latest release of wine to run some windows-only software that I use for my job.

But for real my friend managed to convince me to give NixOS a try instead of Arch as my daily driver #linux_distro . Honestly not half bad, but I do miss my AURs. (Also no I personally don't like tiling window managers for computers I use for anything more than web browsing and light coding. So Hyprland will have to wait)
