hambitiousOctober 24, 2013: It may be fall, but it feels like winter. I went over Max Patch Bald, but it was too cold to stop and enjoy the view. Maybe some day I'll go back. I did look around enough to see the Smokies, which I'll enter tomorrow.
After Max Patch was some forested ridge walking, then a descent to the hostel here. A wood stove in the bunkhouse is keeping it cozy, but I'm slightly worried about staying warm up in the higher peaks.

AdrianLetzte Woche besuchte ich einen meiner Lieblingsorte. Ein abgeschiedener Bergsee, umgeben von einer unglaublichen Bergkulisse. Nur ich und ein paar Steinböcke. Seit gestern gibt es hier nun Schnee und das kleine Tal, in welchem der See liegt, ist dadurch möglicherweise erst im nächsten Juni wieder erreichbar.
Last week, I visited one of my favourite places. A secluded mountain lake surrounded by incredible mountain scenery. Just me and a some ibexes. Yesterday snow arrived, and the small valley in which the lake lies may not be accessible again until next June.
