- It accounts for two-thirds of dementia cases worldwide.
- Symptoms start with short-term memory loss, progressing to behavioral changes and communication difficulties.
- Globally, dementia cases are expected to quadruple by 2050.
- Women, especially over 85, are more likely to develop Alzheimer’s than men.
- Neurological diseases like stroke, migraine, and Alzheimer’s cause significant global disability and mortality.
