Today in 1981, David Lewis died.
Born in 1909, he was the national secretary of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation from 1936-1960 & a key architect of the NDP.
He served in Parliament from 1962-1963 & 1965-1974.
His son, Stephen Lewis, led the Ontario NDP from 1970-1978.
