Did Canada really pass a law making at least ten million more people into citizens, without even a background check? I don't recall much debate about this last year; seems to me we should have given this some study.

In these days when Canadian political discourse and policy have moved to the right, it's important to have a strong NDP making the case for different ideas — even if I reject those ideas completely.

It's good to see the hereditary principle at work in #CanPol: we can learn much from our parents and grandparents. I'm sorry to learn of the death of Stephen Lewis; at least in his final days he saw his son's success.

The new NDP president, Niall Ricardo, greeted last fall’s ceasefire in Gaza, which included a plan to prevent Hamas from rebuilding its military capability, by posting: “The only entity that needs deradicalization and disarmament is the one committing genocide: Israel. Zionism is the sin, genocide is the crime.”
