It's official: Port Alberni hosting Sir Wilfrid Laurier Canadian Coast Guard ship for her refit over the next few months.
Canadian Maritime Engineering is doing the work.
Itâll be fun to see her get all spified up! My wife and her family attended the christening and launch of the ship in the 1990s in Collingwood, ON. It was the final ship to be launched from that yard.

Almost like what the people want is not what the rich want. This is a very positive step for #Canada. This is bad news for Carney and the Liberals. Trudeau outflanked the #NDP to the left and won a majority. He lied and got reduced to a minority and finally kicked out. Now the NDP under Lewis are to the left of Carney, who is pretty right-wing himself. If Lewis can present himself well, I hope for another orange surge!

I feel optimistic about @avilewis being the new leader of the NDP. An NDP leader says the word Socialism for the first time since the 1970s. It's also nice to see the mainstream media attacks are highlighting his opposition to pipelines, which nearly all potential NDP voters agree with.
