One of my favorite treats as a kid was soft flour cakes like this one. I don't think I've ever had one "fresh", if they even make them. They've always been wrapped single-serving and then come in a bigger bag.

They've always reminded me of rice krispie treats, using cut noodle shapes or bigger rice shapes, depending on how you look at them. They're a little soft and crunchy, not too sweet.

I tried these #Doritos chips that I bought at a Chinese market last week.

They were ok. I mean, they're Doritos, and those are good anyway. It was pretty mild as far as the promised garlic factor. It leaned in on the prawn flavoring, even leaving a distinct aftertaste. I liked it overall but not enough that I'd buy it again. #ChineseDoritos #ChineseSnacks

I had also not seen different flavors of #Cheetos before at the Chinese market, but I saw these today - American turkey and Japanese steak. I did not find them interesting enough to buy though. #ChineseCheetos #ChineseSnacks
Did you know that some Chinese markets have different flavors of branded chips than you see in American markets? I've usually seen many different flavors of Lays chips, but I hadn't seen #Doritos flavors before. Garlic prawn and sichuan peppercorn chicken flavors were too tempting not to buy. My first batch of #fermented #SourPlums is done & jarred. There's over 300 in this jar. Starting next batch in 2 weeks, with some of my yellow #plums this time. Preserved with simple coarse salt & cane sugar.
