I am watching the TROM II documentary series. One thing that really stood out to me in episode 2, Society, was that they said 50% of all gold is used in jewelry and 40% is used in investments. It is essentially sitting idly, doing nothing productive for society.

When you think about it, people are detached from reality when they value something sitting in a safe somewhere higher than feeding or housing people.

Our priorities are so out of whack.

Teaching my son about right to repair by explaining why Nintendo chose to have like 8 Triwing screws, and 6 different fasteners to get into the DVD drive we had to replace on our old Wii.

He said "do they just want you to like buy another one or something?"

He learns quickly.

@Linux LibreWolf is not perfect but I think, for me, it is the best solution available.

The shift to Manifest V3 significantly nerfs adblockers on Chromium, meaning they're less effective at blocking ads and trackers, therefore less safe. There are other issues, besides privacy concerns, like Brave's CEO being a real piece of shit (supported California's Proposition 8) and Vivaldi is proprietary and feature bloated software.

It's really hard to find something that is a balance of open-source, ethically acceptable to support, and focused on privacy.

That leaves Mullvad Browser (good choice) and GNU IceCat. Again, LibreWolf is not perfect but for privacy focused individuals it is the best choice.
