Anyone can become disabled at any time. It’s one of the few minority groups you can always join.

Even if you do everything “right”. Even if you’re young and healthy. Even if you “try hard”

It’s not a moral failing. It’s a part of life.

If more people would accept that and work with us, we would all be better off.

@luckytran A ban on masks is a ban against people like me existing in public. I got covid before the lockdowns in the U.S., because our government failed to act. It left me significantly disabled. And now, I must avoid getting it again. A mask ban is a return of the ugly laws, a ban on disabled people. I will not obey. Let’s go to court. Absolutely not. I have a right to exist.

In one week

— a journalist has been shot with a rubber bullet while reporting in LA

— Trump has called for the arrest of governor Gavin Newsom

— US Senator Padilla has been handcuffed for asking a question of Kristi Noem

— Tanks are rolling in the streets of Washington DC

— And a murderer has attacked the homes of two Democratic politicians in Minnesota, killing two people and wounding several others.

I recall Trump claiming America under Biden was "going to hell"…

Where is it going now?

82 years ago,white goons attacked Latinos,Blacks and Filipinos.

For simply being dark-skinned.

My grandpa and uncles were among those attacked.

And just like today,the goons were enabled by government and the media. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoot_Suit_Riots

@molly0xfff
And in a Murdoch-Muck-Media outlet.
@molly0xfff I always want to know who the "some" are when I see a statement about "some leaders".
Protesters Urged Not To Give Trump Administration Pretext For What It Already Doing

LOS ANGELES—Responding to escalating clashes between civilian activists and militarized immigration authorities, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass publicly urged protesters Monday not to give the Trump administration any pretext for what they’re already doing and will keep doing no matter what. “Angelenos—don’t engage in violence and give the administration an excuse to inflict all the […]

The Onion
@molly0xfff And yet the dem-bashers will point to this headline as if it’s the gospel truth.
@mls14 @molly0xfff The party's steady shift to to center-right in everything but cultural issues is ammo enough to pepper them with suspicion, no misrepresentative headlines needed. I'm not yet radical enough to say the Democratic Party's done for as a platform for leftist political action, but we can't pretend there aren't issues.

@molly0xfff then fuck the Democrats too. They’re not as bad as Republicans, but that’s not saying much.

Democrats need to be seen as fighting back, or they’re going to be seen as complicit.

@manchicken the point that @molly0xfff is making here is that the article claims to be about “democrats” but is mostly reporting on the opinions of people who are not even democrats, as well as a few who might *technically* be but have no particular influence in the party.

The democrats have more than their fair share of problems, sure, but the public impression of their ineptitude is at least half just straightforward lies from their enemies

@glyph @molly0xfff yeah, I get that and I don’t disagree. That said, the Democrats also have the opportunity to really fight back publicly, and so far it appears they’ve opted not to far too often.

The Democrats won’t save us, only we can save ourselves.

@manchicken
@molly0xfff
Also they need to fight back, or they'll be complicit.
@manchicken @molly0xfff Err what White is writing AFAICT is that this does not represent what Democrats actually think, for reasons she details in the post you are replying to.

@molly0xfff

Sure and if there’s no protest, everybody in media will be saying oh well everything is just fine in the Americans are going along.

Why is it that Bernie Sanders and AOC have overflow crowds to their fighting oligarchy rallies?

The American public, I think knows enough. Why not stick with the politicians that have been saying the right things for years and years and years?

@GhostOnTheHalfShell @molly0xfff You have lost the Presidency, Congress, The House, the SCOTUS, and the military. What have you got left, The Girl Guides? I will have some cookies thank you, and good luck America.

@TENET_CDN @molly0xfff

That that does seem to be the problem. The world’s richest men, bought total control of the federal government for pocket change..

They got together and pooled their money. Older American wealth has been contributing to this cause for a half century. If it called conservative today, it’s a product of 200 families spending hundreds of millions of dollars over that time to achieve this end here in the UK and elsewhere.

@GhostOnTheHalfShell @molly0xfff Well said, good point. America’s epitaph!

@TENET_CDN @molly0xfff

All it takes is paying attention to journalists since the 70s. They’ve all been reporting on this, but the main problem is I think it’s fair to say that the politicians didn’t say this this is a slow motion coup none of this is an assault on America.

Not even Bernie Sanders.

@GhostOnTheHalfShell @molly0xfff Why doesn’t some rich prick like Musk put up a $5,000,000.00 reward and mobilize his mercenaries, and bounty hunters to get this sick Republican bastard?

@TENET_CDN @GhostOnTheHalfShell @molly0xfff

For all we know, most of the billionaires employ assassins that have been ducking it out thwarting each other this entire time.

#CorporateMedia #ManufacturingConsent

@molly0xfff Democrats are a bunch of fucking pussies!
@molly0xfff
WSJ sucks. It's a joke paper.

@molly0xfff

Who reads a Murdoch publication these days?

@mossyrua the WSJ, which is not a Bezos publication, has the second highest circulation/subscribers in the US. The Washington Post, which is, is #3.

@molly0xfff

Edited and corrected. Thank you!

@molly0xfff Democrats: "Do Nothing"
@molly0xfff I only listen to WSJ for their reporting on the economy. The one thing I trust media backed by the wealthy to speak accurately about is the same system that funds them.
@molly0xfff Look, that consent isn’t going to just manufacture itself, you know.
@molly0xfff Not the time for semantics!
@modris @molly0xfff
Always time for semantics. And clarity.
@molly0xfff Ah, we don’t need to worry about democrats. We have a new party, of the people, by the people, for the people, No Kings Party. No corruption, no forcing economic activity on policy, allowing people to live within their means!
@molly0xfff it's journalism like this that keeps the status quo in place. I can't believe how many reputable media outlets have bent the knee
@CPRyder @molly0xfff WSJ hasn't been journalism for years. It's right another right wing propaganda machine owned by Rupert Murdoch. It's FOX news wearing a cheap suit.
@obscurestar @molly0xfff Here, I thought Fox News had the cheap suits. The WSJ must be in tube tops and flip-flop.

@molly0xfff

Dear Democrats there is a lesson you can learn from Trump.

There are more discouraged, hopeless, people who have given up on voting than there are swing voters. Getting people excited is a valid way to get more votes.

@molly0xfff

So...a collaboration group, a nobody, and a Himmlerist underling?

That *is* convincing centrist pap.

🙄 (at the "journalism")

@molly0xfff claiming 2020 demonstrations "sparked GOP backlash"? Um, do they remember who won the Nov 2020 Presidential election?!

@molly0xfff

This is absolutely true.

Also true: this is a problem because it seems perfectly plausible given corporate Democratic inaction.

@molly0xfff

FYI to anyone who hasn't caught on yet; these are the same kind of Dems who are trying to sell us on "Abundance" which is just recycled Third Way nonsense from the Clinton era.

These people are heavily invested in the status quo, they aren't going to help us change. They certainly aren't going to abolish ICE.

@molly0xfff I think this is best understood at Romney-Republican entryism. The "respectable right" are sad that their party is now a Nazi death cult, so they're trying to take over the Democratic Party and turn it into Reagan's Republican Party (which is to say, a polite far right party).
@pluralistic @molly0xfff to be fair, for WSJ readers, those sources are socialists/communists
