My dad & I were watching the NBA the other day—it struck him how many Black athletes were married to White women. Not to say interracial marriage is inherently wrong; rather, the prevalence of this phenomenon speaks to a culture of fetishization on both ends that's an indightment of patriarchy and heteronormativity. An intersectional critique of these systems is not just about advocating the humanity of women, it's advocating for men's humanity outside patriarchy. Otherwise people fall back.
