I sent the following to CA Senators Schiff and Padilla. Please consider doing so.

Subject: Trump’s Illegal Boat Strikes

Topic: Defense/Military

Content:
I’m pleased to see that you’ve signed the Senate Judiciary Committee letter to Grassley pressing for a hearing on the legality of Trump's boat strikes.

The US Navy must be put on notice that they are committing war crimes and that there is no illegal justification for these actions and murders.

Per your letter, "These strikes are extrajudicial killings and shocking violations of fundamental principles of due process and the right to life under U.S. and international law …. There is not, nor can there be, any justification for state-sanctioned extrajudicial killings [and S]ummary executions”.

Trump, Hegseth, and the Navy commanders in charge must be held accountable.

So the Trump cannabis EO is what his shit is always about: catering to billionaire CEOs, putting out PR for the rubes, and probably getting his beak wet in the process.

Take it from your local weed grower: none of this is good news.

An update from Starbucks. More than 4,500 workers are now on strike across the world.

Local Bay Area radio station #KCBS had to self-censor after the #FCC started bullying them for reporting on ICE presence in the Bay Area. "When journalists were given permission to pursue politics or Trump administration policies, some of the staffers said, the tone of the stories was heavily scrutinized. “‘Chilling effect’ does not begin to describe the neutering of our political coverage". https://apnews.com/article/trump-media-fcc-kcbs-5dbed5c466771d53e2c7bcc5da362bf6
How a local radio station weathered Trump's media attacks

Six days into President Donald Trump's new administration, the San Francisco Bay-area radio station KCBS-AM and other outlets reported on local immigration raids. The brief story quickly drew the ire of conservative influencers who attacked KCBS’ report as endangering agents’ lives. Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr accused KCBS of failing to operate in the public interest and said he was opening an investigation. Current and former staffers say KCBS began taking steps to mitigate the risk of drawing further attention from Carr. The staffers say reporters were dissuaded from pursuing political topics. KCBS says there's been no change in policy or editorial direction.

Billionaires are used to operating in secrecy and with impunity. In that world have a stock attorney present in emails exchanges, chat groups, and phone calls is a common trick to try and shield their actions under the false guise of “attorney-client privilege”.

No surprise our mayor is conducting city business like a billionaire and keeping his constituents and peers in the dark about how the city is being run.

Across India, 118 million adult women in 12 states now receive unconditional cash transfers from their governments, making India the site of one of the world's largest and least-studied social-policy experiments.

Long accustomed to subsidising grain, fuel and rural jobs, India has stumbled into something more radical: paying adult women simply because they keep households running, bear the burden of unpaid care and form an electorate too large to ignore.
