If anything it has got worse. Australia is in dire need of a review of media ownership and appropriate progressive legislation to ensure the public is truly informed and not brain-washed by #CorporateMedia mis-disinformation.

TBF there are independent news outlets which do a good job, like #Crickey, The #Guardian, The #Onion, #InDaily, #TheShot (there are others) and the #AustraliaInstitute. All of which depend on readership donations and support. But you have to ‘seek’ them out, they are not ‘in your face’ like free to air TV and radio broadcasts — Australians are basically lazy when it comes to keeping informed about politics and world news, they like it ‘fed’ to them.
