Today in Labor History March 22, 1886: Mark Twain, who was a lifelong member of the International Typographical Union, gave a speech entitled, “Knights of Labor: The New Dynasty.” In the speech, he commended the Knights’ commitment to fair treatment of all workers, regardless of race or gender. “When all the bricklayers, and all the machinists, and all the miners, and blacksmiths, and printers, and stevedores, and housepainters, and brakemen, and engineers . . . and factory hands, and all the shop girls, and all the sewing machine women, and all the telegraph operators, in a word, all the myriads of toilers in whom is slumbering the reality of that thing which you call Power, ...when these rise, call the vast spectacle by any deluding name that will please your ear, but the fact remains that a Nation has risen.”

@Jgbird green herons are one of my favorite birds because they can look so different depending on their posture and crest.
I must not scroll. Scroll is the mind-killer. Scroll is the little-death that brings total anxiety. I will deny the phone. I will permit the boredom to pass over me and through me. And when the scroll no longer clouds my mind I will see my path. Only I will remain.
Conway's back... and this time it's personal.

I've been making an effort to use #freecad more. This week has been using the #gridfinity workbench to make some socket organizers. #printables is full of them, but it's quick and easy enough to draw up exactly what I need quickly and drop it into #prusaslicer and send it to my #Prusa XL.

FreeCAD has come a long way in a short time and the roadmap for 1.1 looks like it hasn't lost any momentum.

@FreeCAD

@jorge I'm most excited about LTS stuffs, and looking forward to what it brings in 2026.

I really wish Prusa had tried to work with OSI, CC, and/or OSHWA instead of greenfielding a new license.

Even if the principle behind this license wasn't misguided, I don't think it's precise enough to legally accomplish any of the goals Prusa stated.

Please don't use this.

Open-sourcing CORE One CAD Files Under the New Open Community License (OCL) - Original Prusa 3D Printers

Today, we are releasing the full CAD files for the CORE One and CORE One L frames. You can download them right now, load them into your CAD software and use them to create mods and accessories, import them to Fusion...

Original Prusa 3D Printers

Inspired by @josefprusa 's new license "for the maker community", OCL, I'm introducing it's long-awaited sequel, SOCL!

Like Hollow Knight Silksong, it promises to be an improvement over its prequel in every way.

Looking forward to community adoption and feedback!

Understanding licenses is apparently some kind of superpower.

@FreeCAD I fixed a USB hub, HooToo Shuttle HT-UC007.

The device has two major problems impacting its longevity:

1. The finish of the back was rubberized. It turns into sticky chewing gum after only a few years.
2. The Ethernet port was designed as a movable part to save ~2mm in height. The spring pushes it apart, rendering it unusable.

I made a 3D-printable model to replace the flawed back.
