Delighted and relieved to share my 300th film review from the blog, a look back at the excellent Godzilla Minus One from 2023. Suffice to say, I'm excited to see the sequel later in the year! Thanks for reading and here's to many more - if you feel like supporting my work, please visit my Ko-fi account. I really appreciate it!

In memory of comedy writer Barry W. Blaustein who died yesterday, I revisited his documentary expose on the professional wrestling industry in 1999 - Beyond The Mat. In contrast to his work on SNL and various Eddie Murphy movies in the 80s and 90s, this is a grim and uncomfortable look at a world most of us are unfamiliar with. It's aged a bit these days but it remains the best documentary on grappling today. 😔

NEWS! Reform denies weak vetting after new councillor revealed to be Cenobite from the Realm of Suffering https://newsthump.com/2026/05/13/reform-denies-weak-vetting-after-new-councillor-revealed-to-be-cenobite-from-the-realm-of-suffering/

There are around 200 berths at that marina where Zack and his partner lived. Over the last 35 years, that would mean many hundreds of different boats ⛵.

Apparently, only ONE ever registered for council tax 😳 whilst nine people had registered to vote at a bungalow on the property.

So, Zack Polanski was one of the hundreds who didn’t realise the rules applied. The council never chased anyone there. He’s now contacting them to sort any shortfall ✅.

What was sold as “Zack Polanski dodging council tax” is actually a story about hundreds of boaters not understanding the rules, not paying, and a council not enforcing them. A genuine mistake that’s being fixed.

This really does seem like a concerted effort to tarnish Polanski over an error that hundreds of others at the same marina have also made.

Hello!! I am looking for a new virtual administrator. Please DON’T recommend yourself, and please don’t contact me from an agency (I don’t want to be inundated, makes it impossible to choose someone!) but I am very interested in one to one personal recommendations! #getFediHired

Well, it failed. Best of all, they don’t know what the problem is and can’t even look at it until Friday.

Fuck my life. 😖

Reading this has genuinely made me feel sick. 🤢

Random thoughts of the day so far…

Who was the voice of Fred Flintsone?
Did the theme tune for ‘Allo ‘Allo have lyrics?
And why do they matter all of a sudden? 🤷🏻‍♂️ #NeedSomeSleep

Got my MOT this morning, one of the hardest days of the year for me. There’s so much pressure on the car to pass as my limited finances are usually sorely tested by having to get repairs. I hate this! Why does mental health and financial stability have this correlation and why does nobody talk about it? 😢
