MGCTwest ☮️❤️☕️Heading home from Old Faithful this afternoon we encountered a group of bison braving the 150F water while crossing the runoff of Excelsior Geyser. The cold air causes heavy steam to rise and surround the bison.

Wombat spam.
Wombats have rear facing pouches. So as this mum is walking along eating grass, the little baby Wombat is having a little grassy nibble as well!
Also they have cubic poo, I'll post a picture of that next 😂

Bird's nest fungus, Nidula sp., from southern California, Satwiwa trail, Thousand Oaks, 2013. The little "eggs" inside the cup form the spores. Rain splashes them out, which gets them a bit further from the parent shroom before release.
I seem to remember there are lichens that have an analogous system. ?? Anybody here know? Or even have pics??
LadyFluffyOrcaPhotographer Renatas Jakaitis captured this unintended moment when three fallow-deer were walking along a path and the sound of her camera caught their attention. Like an optical illusion, the deer appeared as one body with three almost identical heads.

Bob Tregilus has moved...This isn't an image of just any mustang, this is a Carter Reservoir Spanish mustang. They've been DNA tested to the original Iberian stock brought to the Americas by the murderous Conquistadors. This isolated herd of horses in the far NW corner of Washoe County, Nevada, feature primitive (dun factor) markings including leg stripes, breast herringbones, dorsal stripes, black facial stripes, and capes.
