Went to the zoo the other day, took a few photos and sat and drew this very asleep wombat. Ill never be able to look at wombats and not want to hug them, but I value having a face too much to actually try.

I have to draw a wombat for a show poster and I found fun to show you my sketches.

First done without refs and from "memory", then after study a bunch of photos of real wombats.

I need to stylized it anyway after, but now I understand better their morpho and shapes 👍

Me, explaining that it's a tassie devil.
Them: oh! I saw one of them!
Me, skeptical: I didnt know you went to Tasmania?
Them: I didn't. Ohhh no, I'm thinking of the big carnivorous mammal...
Me, confused: a quoll?
Them: a wombat!!

Der weltweit älteste Wombat lebt in einem Zoo in Japan. Zu seinem 37. Geburtstag wurde eine Geburtstagsfeier durchgeführt, die sogar öffentlich übertragen wurde. Mit seinen 37 Jahren liegt das Tier über dem eigentlichen Durchschnitt.
