@garretble @kakurady @Gargron @verge Same
Chorus-to-WP migration was also mentioned in the latest Vergecast, btw
It’s not too hard if you have a site you can use: https://joinmastodon.org/verification
Kind of a “verification by virtue of being known in another place.” For most people it’s “if you have a website, you can verify your mastodon with it.”
@Chancerubbage @Gargron @verge if it's "verge" something or other, it was probably an unofficial bot of their Twitter feed. (I follow a few of them IIRC.)
As I understand it, this will be their official verified account. (although it still had the "bot" label last I checked earlier today after the @davidpierce toot.
@pabloniusmonk @Gargron @verge @davidpierce I think in their ‘bio’ it might have said it was only a distribution bot.
I may been told privately too, saying it was only a bot and ‘you can comment on our site’ and I may have nastily replied ‘what ever I replied is for others that might read it HERE, not for registered users of your site. I’m not feeding my email to be resold to every news blog out there for just yet another ‘platform’ to track discussion and be pummeled with notifications.
@Gargron @verge Okay, getting there with Follows that can be hidden in Lists … Thanks!

@Gargron @Ming @verge Good news.
Wondering how long it’ll take other media groups and individual journalists to actually get on and use #mastodon rather than the toe-dipping disingenuous non-efforts that are so common.
The use (and outright promotion) of oligarchy owned platforms by ostensibly progressive and even self described left wing journalists is disturbing to say the least.
