I'm inspired to see many long-standing Fediverse supporters, moderators, admins, and code contributors volunteer their expertise for Discovery Week! I can't wait to learn from you all.

But we're missing some important voices: Non-technical users.

It has been an honor and delight getting to know @Tzipporah and @Yehuda over the past few months.

If you haven’t met them, they’re the grandfather & grandkid duo that co-admin #TurtleIsland, a server focused on building community with Native/Indigenous people, other BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) people, and allies. To me, their story perfectly encapsulates the best thing about the fediverse and Mastodon: People coming together to build a place for themselves.

We're sharing that Andy Piper has decided to move on from #Mastodon after three years. We’re grateful for the impact Andy had; his numerous contributions will not be forgotten.

@andypiper joined as DevRel Lead and later became Head of Comms. Andy was integral promoting our mission on stages all over the world and helped lay the groundwork for key areas like developer relations and public relations at Mastodon. Thank you for being part of our team, Andy, and we wish you all the best!
