@autismsupsoc I lol'd, although it's a bit weird to see #ADHD described as "kinetic", since most often all the thoughts buzzing around in my head make me go non-verbal and I just sit there like a zombie unable to react. I mean, I guess the kinetic stuff is still there, but you would never know it from the outside.
@holly @autismsupsoc I do think there's a danger with using #kinetic and #ADHD interchangeably. People with primarily inattentive/'dreamy' forms of ADD are already too often overlooked and left undiagnosed/untreated; if we change the name to further emphasize the physical motion aspect, are we making it even more difficult for those people to get the help they need?

@lmgenealogy @holly

Please come up with a better term if you don’t like other people choosing to identity as Kinetic.

We don’t approve of “Deficient” and “Disorder”

We are glad that our choice to embrace Kinetic is inspiring you to take action!

We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Btw. Our use of the work Kinetic applies to motion of thought. We are sorry you can’t embrace that but we accept it.

Please be well!

@autismsupsoc @lmgenealogy I'm fine with #ADHD I'm fine with Executive Function Disorder. I do have a disorder, I don't feel shame about it because it's not my fault, and I have a right to treatment and accomodation.
@holly That's one difference btw. ADHD people & the autistic community - I've never met someone with ADHD who has a problem calling it a disorder. It sabotages not only interpersonal relationships & the ability to live in an NT world, but our ability to meet our own expectations and wishes. Personally, I think people should call themselves whatever they feel comfortable with, but I'm not sure using a less inclusive term because it fits a non-ADHD narrative makes sense. Just my view.
