Journalists need both reach and access, and as long as twitter exists there will be some story thatāll be accessible first only there, thatās a fact whether you like it or not, and journalists canāt afford to come across news hours later. But at the same time she can also grow an audience here for more meaningful discussions.

1 - What I donāt like is #musk ās treatment of the press. They shouldnāt have to accept this kind of treatment.
2- I agree about reach, but if journalists embrace alternatives, like Mastodon eventually reach/access will no longer be a barrier.
Yes, Twitter is the place to get breaking news right now, but it doesnāt mean it always has to be.
Journalists have the power to ensure that this comes to pass. They should use it.
