when Threads launched, a number of right wing accounts with a history of posting misinformation on other platforms were flagged with a warning label informing users that they “repeatedly posted false information”

however, it appears Threads has now removed these labels

a Meta spokesperson told Donald Trump Jr. that his account was flagged in “error” and that it’s since “been fixed”

Yes, unless you were on Twitter in 2008 & earlier, you don’t remember its interface and mobile apps needed much improvement. The servers got bogged down, thus the Famous Fail Whale. And it was VERY TECH BROS white. I joined bird app in early 08 bc I followed a computer tech podcast & the VCs ‘n tech nerds were using it. It wasn’t as much a news site then so much as a community research tool & sounding bd. Its early use was very different than what it became after 2012 imo
