HTML Elephant – hi, I'm an elephant!
I started learning HTML this year. And web literacy. And this is my first project. Based on the lessons I've learned. It's a semi-serious project. It's a dream. Which I've realized. And a semi-training project. To practice simple HTML.

Other People Have Lives – I Have Domains
These are just some boring update notifications from the elkemental Webiverse. The elkement blog has recently celebrated its fifth anniversary, and the punktwissen blog will turn five in December. Time to celebrate this - with new domain names that says exactly what these sites are - the 'elkement . blog' and the 'punktwissen . blog' (Edit: which now - in 2020 - point to a copy of these sites elsewhere ;-) Edit again in 2023: And now the main name of this site is elkement.art […]https://elkement.art/2017/06/06/other-people-have-a-life-i-have-domains/
Including today's, I have seen 9,999 sites that do not have underline for links. Fine. But they also blend with color of regular text. This results in bad user experience & negatively impacts SEO effort.
Consider following 6 points to display them:
1. Preferably, create links in default style. This ensures the browsers to display them in two colors: when they aren't visited and when they are visited.
2. If you want to apply colors to them, ensure they are of different colors to regular text.
3. At least, ensure they are differentiated by underline.
4. Avoid links on headings and subheadings.
5. Use HTML's <a> tag to create them.
6. Avoid "more", "see here" etc... as anchor text. Use/create something that gives a hint of what to expect when a link is visited.
Happy 6-year blogiversary to me! 🎉 To celebrate I want to talk about other peoples' blogs, specifically blogrolls.
Blogrolls are “lists of other sites that you read, are a follower of, or recommend”. Any blog can host a blogroll, or sometimes websites can be one big blogroll.
