1/2 This is my understanding of what #NVEnergy ( #Nevada electric #utility #monopoly) is about to do to every customer, rich or poor, & to SMALL businesses, starting Jan 1, 2027, to subsidize NVE decreasing profits due to more widespread use of solar energy in the state. Mind you, they are still very profitable.

NVE will measure each of those customer's HIGHEST 15 minutes of usage per 24 hour cycle, determine the charge for that 15 minutes then ADD it on top of, in addition to, the total bill.

#Monopoly is the worst. A complete corruption of The Landlord’s Game, which was intended to be an illustration of the economic theories of Henry George. Its main point was to show how concentration of land ownership creates societal ills.

Now it’s just an interminable game that leaves everyone miserable.

This is a really good document.
I suppose there are many ways to interpret it, yet, what strikes me is the fact that one needs at least 2xDGX Spark, with 128GB of LPDDR5x memory each, to run just a 27B model (hopefully not quantized) at 20 toks/s.

It's so wasteful. Perhaps, this is what happens when a vendor doesn't have any competitors. Besides, experts in the field, such as Yann LeCun, keep saying GPT tech is already deprecated🤷‍♂️
