The #EU has 8 #infringementactions against the UK for failing to properly implement the #withdrawalagreement. I have made a notes page https://davelevy.info/wiki/infringements-of-the-withdrawal-agreement/ and it now includes the UK version of the list also at https://questions-statements.parliament.uk/written-questions/detail/2025-01-09/hl3924
Infringements of the Withdrawal Agreement

This is a notes page. I think the EU has instigated six infringement processes against the UK. Several, maybe the majority of these relate to the Internal Market Bill, and maybe the Windsor Framework.

#brexit #residence #eu #withdrawalagreement #art15_3 This press article says Brits living in EU at time of Brexit have lifelong right to remain in the EU country where they were living. The proviso in Article 15(3) is that they do not leave that EU country for more than five consecutive years, else they lose the right to 'remain'. So lifelong is not really that. You cannot live & work freely in the whole EU: you are bound to one country, contrary to whole idea of the EU

Together with @JamesCleverly, I co-chaired the EU-UK #WithdrawalAgreement Joint Committee this morning.
We focused on citizens' right and the #WindsorFramework.
We will continue to ensure full and timely implementation.

European Commission

@Geri

to get rid of her and replace her with the #humanhaystack. Who lied to them the way he lies to his employers, wives, mistresses and children. Then we all know what happend next!

So if #Foster and the #DUP had of backed #May & her #WithdrawalAgreement, things could have been very different for us all.

So #England welcome to the #DUP f***ing everything up for everyone!

Now you understand why we#NI were trying to warn you about giving a bunch of 🤬 like the #DUP any role in power.

@Geri

Watching the news coverage of the #LE2023 & the usual suspects are starting the #excuses for the #Tories performance. Plus who is to blame! Can I put forward my candidate of blame - the #DUP

My reasoning - May gave 'Dame' #Foster £1bn & #DUP to keep her in power. #Foster phoned May, threatened her not to agree to the #WithdrawalAgreement or she pull her support for her government.

This gave #ERG the confidence to move against her, knowing they had the #DUP backing. So they moved

I agree, the external borders of the Single Market will always take priority for the #EU. So thanks to Brexit, Ireland is now that external border and with that comes the Good Friday Agreement.

I remember Merkel's visit to Ireland during the #WithdrawalAgreement, she was very interested in the #border. I think that was due to her personal background.
