Over the weekend, considering copyright law, I said that in the 19th century, music authors deemed trumpets to be copyright infringing items, as they later did for pianola's and CDs. I was asked for a reference. I wrote about Jessica LItman's article "Real Copyright Reform" on my blog.

Perhaps I am some kind of dangerous computer radical these days, thinking that one should be able to buy or make a computer, install one's choice of OSs and software, create a local user account, and get on with one's affairs, privately and without interference.
Quiet enjoyment of one's computer.

Despite Trump's support in the International Trade arena, an LA Court has found against the social media giants and will fine them for their failure warn users about the dangers of its platforms. ORG argues that their business models need to be confronted.
I read Will Lockett's medium piece looking at two outcomes of the AI revolution; one is that AI fails and there is a debt implosion within the AI sector and thus their lenders, and alternatively it succeeds and there is a global unemployment [ & consumption] crisis. I note that without renewable & cool energy, building more AI will also grossly exacerbate the climate crisis.
