 🔥 Ok, EU #ENVI ministers agreed their 2040 #climate target. It is far from what science tells us is needed, and the EP position still missing. But what anyhow matters is measures that will be taken to achieve it (ETS/II, LULUCF, ICE, ..). When are we talking about reducing #livestock, when about taxing #kerosine, when about restoring #forests? While reaching an agreement before COP30 has been critical, today’s decision is certainly a disappointing outcome. After nearly two years of negotiations, ministers have agreed on a deal that weakens the core of Europe’s climate ambition.
