Upgraded to Ubuntu 23.10 on the little Lenovo x131e I use for email/listening to podcasts/browsing the Fediverse in the kitchen. So far so good, the upgrade seemed to go smoothly. Some weirdness with having to unplug and re-plug my USB speaker, but otherwise seems okay.

This might be kind of subjective, but Gnome feels a little more smooth and responsive than it did before. Or at least, it hasn't gotten worse. Responsiveness is one of my pet peeves in terms of computing, either with typing latency in the console or things not responding right away in a GUI. These days though the worst offenders in the latter tend to be web apps.

I got really tired of using Ubuntu 18.04 and today finally upgraded to 23.10 on the old Asus laptop I keep upgrading from time to time. So far so good although printer won’t work for some reason, but I’ll figure that later.

Why did I upgrade anyway? Well 18.04 did not have the driver for my new wireless card and I was too lazy to mess around with manually adding it so I just upgraded. Worked great 👍🏻

Eu instalei Ubuntu 23.10 (Mantic Minotaur) no Notebook Dell Inspiron N5010 (2010).

Adorei ver que Ubuntu 23.10 entrega a versão 45 do ambiente gráfico Gnome.
