(Agenzia Vista) Washington, March 16, 2026 “We strongly encourage other nations whose economies depend on the Strait much more than ours… you know, we receive less than 1% of our oil from the Strait, while some countries receive much more: Japan receives 95%, China 90%, many Europeans receive a good portion of it, South Korea receives 35%. So we want them to come and help us with the Strait. We have kept it in excellent condition. As I said, we have already dealt with Iran, but now, because literally a single terrorist can put something in the water or shoot something or launch a missile – a small missile – and it’s at a fairly close distance because it’s a narrow area – it is one of the reasons they have always used it as a weapon.
