Yes, #Australia & the #world need safety. There are many who promote all sorts of #hatred including religion-based hatred promoting religion-based #discrimination that empowers people from a #religious sect to discriminate people and spread hatred by such discrimination.

Whilst there are people like the #Bondi #shooters, there are #white #supremacists and #cisgender #supremacists in Australia. Protect Australia from them as well.

I don't do many preorders of anything, but I love the hell out of shooting games of all kinds- sometimes I gotta jump. Dezatopia came out in 2020 and I've had it on both my Switch and Steam wishlists digitally since then, it's supposed to be great. It's actually the very FIRST thing on my Switch wishlist from all those years ago! So when I heard it was coming out physical with Mecharitz, it was a no brainer. Sure, it took a long time to get here (I preordered in July and just got it now in December). But to me, the wait was worth it. In addition to the cartridge with both games and a manual, it came with another separate book, a CD of the soundtrack, and a poster.

So psyched to try both of these.

Technically, there should have been a fourth game using the Descent trademark, but a messy legal dispute between developer Descendent Studios and publisher Little Orbit has delayed its launch indefinitely. Granted, the latter holds all rights now, but that game had been announced, crowdfunded, and opened to beta testing a good 10 years ago. Meanwhile, take a look at what sort of action we have been left out of and what could have been:

Save 50% on Contra: Operation Galuga on Steam

The legendary Contra series returns! This reimagining of the classic run-'n'-gun action game from the ‘80s features new stages, new enemies, new play mechanics, and co-op combat for up to 4 players!

3rd-person shooters optimized for controllers?

I don't feel comfortable using a mouse and I have no interest in working on my mouse skills. I play all of my games with either a controller or a k…

My favourite way to play “Shooters” has always been co-op.
I switched my AI coding (Climate modelling, Chess, etc.) to making “bots” for the Quake Engine based games back in the 1990s, just so me and a few friends could have some fun against Artificial Enemies. It really took off.

For an arcade machine project in 1999, I had to invent “Artificial Stupidity”, because my Bots were too good for the players to beat. Playtesters died all the time, so I taught the bots to do things like:
⭐️Go the wrong way.
⭐️Miss valuable pickups.
⭐️Worsen their aim.
⭐️‘Hear’ and ‘see’ less.

Fun experience, teaching them to play like a human. As players progressed through the levels, the bots grew more intelligent, gradually providing more challenge, so players felt they got their money’s worth.

I just remembered that Platypus Reclayed dropped in September! I picked it up on Steam and gave it a go. The updated graphics look amazing and it solved the one major complaint that I had with the original on the PSP - The enemy Bullets are highlighted and no longer look like random debris. I am also glad that the SID tunes seem to be intact. #LinuxGaming #Shooters #Gaming #Steam

@krutonium @nflux not to mention all the #Objective-based #Shooters (i.e. steal a DHD from a plante the Wraith are "Harvesting", Find and catch a Goa'uld for the Tok'rah,...)

  • Basically a lot of #stealth-y stuff where one can do single w/ bots & #coop with friends and where using the least amount if force, staying hidden and getting out without alarms or seen is being rewarded, whilst excessive force isn't rewarded but rather penalized.

Could really be a fun game in between the new #DeusEx titles, #RainbowSixVegas2, #TF2 and #CS2.

Could even do some rotating quests for one's faction (i.e. trade food with some other factions that may need some help) that gets rewarded ingame…

It's really fucking sad because it's not lack of money but u*nwillingness to do anything* with the #Franchise at all. #StarWars does the lazy minimum of milking it with licensees like #LEGO

VoidBreaker Review: One Of 2025's Best Shooters

This new shooter out now on PC is like Hades meets Portal meets Titanfall meets Battlefield. Really.
