I saw a handful before I left in 2019 but apparently it ramped up during the pandemic as a way for them to make money. I always found it oddly offputting but not surprising given the current state of affairs in #India.
Looking at the news, it looked like today the DMRC announced that they are opening up all stations to co-branding:
