Man kan selvsagt diskutere teknikalitetene om @Vivaldi er helt uavhengig av amerikansk teknologi, men det blir et solid sidespor som kan tas i en annen tråd.

Det viktige her er at det finnes alternativer på en rekke tjenester som vi bruker i det daglige. Men man må våge å ta skrittet og faktisk gjøre det for at det skal ha effekt.

Proton is everywhere, but not on Mastodon! They left it.
Except for Telegram, exclusively on US platforms!
Why is that?
Instead of constantly introducing new services, they should reconsider their media presence and support channels.
It isn't that hard to support a Mastodon channel or to built an Open Source support community.

Never forget:
Every support request (even mails their support) at Proton goes through US channels—none of which are E2EE.
I don't understand the connection to privacy here. There is still 'much' room for improvement.

I would like to see all content creators take up this topic as well.

I'm looking for suggestions for cloud services. I am currently a paid #Proton customer. I started moving to them to try to get away from Google. But Proton still doesn't have a #Linux client for Proton Drive, which is a major frustration, especially since my current password management is a #KeePass database in my cloud storage. Also, the #android Proton Drive client doesn't seem capable of opening files from the app like Google Drive could, which also makes it inconvenient to use the password manager -- I have to separately download the file, use it, and delete it to save space.

I do use Proton's VPN, but that is in part because the good options for mail and storage together also include it.

To compete with #Adobe Creative Suites, #Microsoft Office 365, & #Google Workspace, should we have a universal #OpenSource account for all #FOSS & #privacy -focused apps for an easy workflow?

This would allow a #GIMP user to switch smoothly among #Krita, #Inkscape, #LibreOffice #Kdenlive, #Blender, #ProtonDrive, #Joplin, & #NextCloud on #Linux.
