I finally finished my very first leather project. Long delay because I needed a thimble for the last bit of work around the grommet. It was a ton of work, and it has MANY flaws, but I’m still digging it! 🥰

Apparently I’m really into leather work. Tried it out for the first time today, and it was way too cool. I can’t wait to finish this beginner’s piece. It will be a utility pouch w/ YKK (IYKYK) zipper and a grommet.

My hubby has a hobby of seeing how many wood/dried plant stem or root combinations he can tease fire out of by rubbing two sticks together. He usually uses the hand drill method instead of the bow drill.
Today, he reached the 2000th unique combination of materials used.
Odd hobby, but then his wife's odd hobby is sharing news stories. Both do work with trying to bring light to a darkened world, you could say...
My hubs has an interesting hobby: He likes to make friction fires, the rubbing two sticks type of fire making. He started off using a bow, but now mostly does hand drill, where you just spin a stick against a hearth board
What he's really interested in is finding out how many different combinations of plant material he can tease fire out of. Tonight he reached #2163. Problem now is finding new plant materials! He's done the most common.
