AGI - Donald Trump attende oggi una risposta dall'Iran sull'ultima proposta per mettere fine alla guerra, e allo stesso tempo ha spiegato ai giornalisti, mentre lasciava la Casa Bianca, che in caso contrario riattiverà l'Operazione Libertà per la scorta militare delle navi attraverso lo Stretto di Hormuz.

Sul fronte diplomatico, si registra la netta presa di posizione delle Nazioni Unite. Il Segretario Generale Antonio Guterres ha espresso ferma opposizione al piano dell'Iran di istituire una nuova autorità di controllo sul traffico marittimo nello Stretto. Attraverso il suo portavoce, l'ONU ha chiesto di ripristinare immediatamente la piena libertà di navigazione, rifiutando ogni nuova restrizione che possa ostacolare il passaggio delle navi civili e il commercio globale di merci.
