A little 🧵 on a week long trip through Europe

This morning early departure from Valence TGV for another work-related #noflying journey around a large swath of Europe, including #Stockholm. Estimated distance 6481 km in only 10 trains, including 2 night-trains.

Perfectly on-time, train fully booked. Actually looking forward to what should be, for the first leg, about 26 hours in trains from here.

(had to do the first 76km by car, since on Sundays we have no early TER)

Here’s day 7 of my trip to #Scotland #Skye #OuterHebrides, it’s time to cover some ground in order to be home tomorrow. Land travel takes more time than flying but it’s also much and much more rewarding #staygrounded #noflying ⛴️🚞🚄🚌 first leg is the ferry back from #Tarbert #Harris to #Uig on #Skye.

Sooo you are probably all wondering how I am going to get to the @dariaheu Annual Event after all. The alternative is: either 48 hours and 6 different trains between Irun and Lisbon or 15 hours of a direct bus between Bordeaux and Lisbon. So, bus it is. And yes, I am car sick, it's not going to be much fun. But making points is seldom fun, alas. #noflying
