Simply being in Paris, it does feel the French do joie de vivre better than the British. As we walked back to our hotel, masses of people were hanging out on the banks of the Seine simply enjoying the cool, the music and their company. So many bistros offer small refreshments outside. It feels miles away from the aggressive British drinking culture, crammed into tiny, dark pubs.

Whether it is a different drinking culture, better weather, the cuisine, I don't know. #travel #interrail #paris

For our last day of our trip we eschewed Paris' major sights, visiting the Victor Hugo and Marie Curie museums instead, by way of the Pantheon (where both are also interred). This took us via the vibrant Quartier Latin and the Botanical Gardens. It was a great way to just experience "being in Paris", in particular with the great weather.

This followed from a pilgrimage to the Notre Dame the day before.

Savoury crepes and good cider are definitely things the UK should adopt.
