@Tarnport @EvilCartyen My father grew up in the hill country of #Mississippi, in the general area of Yazoo City (but way out in the country, not near the city). He used to say that he learned standard American English as a second language. In his dialect, "deaf" was pronounced to rhyme with "sheaf". I've lived in enough places within the USA that my Southern origins aren't usually recognizable, but some things still show. For example, my wife used to tease me about pronouncing "on" with a long O, exactly like "own".

This paragraph quoting the lawyer (for the county or the jail) is even more depressing than the video. Imagine thinking this shithole country is GREAT when abusive jail conditions are seen as better than what this disabled man suffered through as a free person. His “crime” was being addicted to crack cocaine, allegedly.
