May Day Strong · Mobilize
***HOSTED BY INDIVISIBLE 605*** On May Day, a coalition of over 200 organizations is calling for a national economic day of action. No work. No school. No shopping. Showing up matters. We’ve proved that, and we’ll keep proving that. But showing up alone is not enough to stop people who are breaking every rule. We need to show them we have leverage, not just numbers. Indivisible 605 is joining this May Day Strong coalition. While we’ve asked our members to strike on May 1st, the damage from this Administration’s policies continues to negatively impact our neighbors. “Our unhoused population in Sioux Falls exceeds 2000 people and they are in need of shoes and personal hygiene products. Our city simply tickets them for being unhoused and hasn’t found a solution to move citizens from unsheltered to sheltered to stable housing”, explained Roni Wegner, Advisory Board Chair of Indivisible 605. She added “every human being deserves dignity and a helping hand when needed”. Donations of gently used and new shoes plus new personal hygiene items can be dropped off from 4/20/26 through 5/2/26 at Remedy Brewing or The Painted Lady Tattoo. On Saturday, May 2nd, Indivisible 605 members will be at Remedy Brewing from 3-5pm to meet and greet the public and thank them for their donations.
