The Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce is facing criticism for its strong promotion of Elon Musk’s xAI supercomputing facility located in southwest Memphis, amid rising public worries about environmental and health hazards. In an unusual step, the Chamber distributed promotional materials highlighting xAI’s adherence to regulations — a statement that critics argue is deceptive, as several agencies mentioned have denied any role in oversight.
