I went to Adam Hamilton’s church when we lived in Kansas City. He’s not what I would call a progressive, but he is *way* better than the conservatives there.

He tried to embrace a more progressive and inclusive policy at United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, but stopped short of endorsing gay marriage until very recently, when the United Methodist Church General Conference repealed its ban.

Hamilton is *firmly* in “the center”, i.e. a Liberal Democrat, not a progressive. But he is way better than Republican candidates and may be a good means of drawing the deep red state of Kansas (and the US Senate) ever so slightly to the left, so I wish him the best of luck.
