St Joseph's Church, 115 Union St, Lynn MA photographed from Buck Hill. The olive green spire is a little hard to pick out against the brown background and the tip of the spire only just rises above the land behind it.

In front of the church is the Harbor Loft Apartments, 7 Liberty Square, Lynn MA. To the left of that is a fuel storage tank, National Grid, 277-399 Blossom Street Ext, Lynn MA. To the right of the church on the horizon is a water tower, 15 Colby St, Salem MA.

This photo is a great example of the stripes of land and water that form Boston Harbor. The first strip of land below has several houses visible, inclusing several on Lorean Terrace that are in Winthrop MA. The next strip of land is part of the runway for Logan Internation Airport, East Boston MA and to the left of frame a Jet Blue airliner can be seen. Below that is Castle Island, with a view of parts of Fort Independence. While most of the fort is behind trees, the structure can be made out through the bare branches. Below that is Head Island which has what looks like a lookout tower at the tip.

These photos were featured on WX1BOX Skywarn account over on the 🐦 site. Probably the only remaining reason I keep an account there nowadays. They're also on Bluesky though so that's a consolation I guess.

Neptune Towers apartments, 130 Neptune Blvd, Lynn MA photographed from Buck Hill.

I was going through some of my past photo shoots and came across this photo of this pair of apartment buildings reflecting the late day sun. I had not previously identified these buildings or much of the detail seen in this image. This particular day (Nov 2024) was marred by wildfire smoke and air turbulence, but with some corrections, I was able to get a decent resulting image.

As I am looking at the two apartment buildings, I noticed what appeared to be the faint outline of a tower, exactly between the two buildings. At first I thought my eyes were playing a trick on me, but it turns out this is the steeple of Saint Stephen's Memorial Episcopal Church, 74 S Common St, Lynn MA.

To the right of the aparment building is the former Mary T Ronan School, 154 Bradstreet Ave, Revere MA. This building now serves as housing for the elderly. Below the apartments and school building there are many houses that can be seen, most of which are on Pearl Ave, Revere MA.

Below the houses and above the water there is a bridge that spans between Saratoga St, East Boston and Main St Winthrop MA.

Below the bridge is a portion of Logan Airport with a couple of jets on the runways. Below the airport is part of Conley Terminal, 700 Summer St, South Boston MA. These look like they are adjoined in the photo, but they are on different pennisulas.

A the very bottom of the frame is an apartment building at 171 Walnut St, Dorchester MA and the spire of the Community Church of Neponset, 51 Walnut St, Dorchester MA.

High Rock Tower, 30 Circuit Ave, Lynn MA photographed from Buck Hill.

It almost looks like the tower is topped by a giant ring. In fact, the top of the tower has a silver dome which houses an astronomical observatory. I have not visited the observatory, but I did visit the tower itself. While the tower was not accessible, the walkway around the base is and offers some spectacular views.
